An experienced Technical Director and Manager with a background as a motorsport designer, production engineer and R&D engineer with a hands on approach. David took the route less travelled into Motorsport by first doing a full Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship achieving OND, HNC and HND in Engineering, before moving on to achieve a First Class Honours Degree in Automotive Engineering from Oxford Brookes University.
David has nearly 30 years' experience working at the pinnacle of cutting edge technology and has spent significant time at many well known companies in the fields of Formula 1 Hybrid powertrain systems design, Electrification/Decarbonisation, Rapid Prototyping and R&D, Motorsport Transmission Design and Production. Commercially experienced in technical sales and with many recent years in management building and developing technical teams and implementing business improvements. During this time he has worked with 3T AM, Xtrac, Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains, Hewland, Protean Electric & Williams Advanced Engineering (now Fortescue Zero) and has been fortunate to work on many exciting new technologies, prestigious series winning transmission projects, the industry switch to Electrification and EDUs and the incredibly successful Mercedes F1 V6 Turbo Hybrid Engine.
